Some Democrats sure know how to reframe a positive into a negative & then wonder why turnout is low. It's like a person in a homeless shelter complaining that they only received enough free food to eat for a week.
Yes. Canceling 'only' $10,000 in Student Loan Debt would be more impactful had it went further.
Yes. The climate bill would've been better had it went further.
That doesn't mean that both aren't historical. (Yes, part of the issue is the initial expectations prior to Manchin & Synema through a wrench in everything.)
I think it is framing like that NAACP article that reinforce the idea that Dems are the same as Republicans (even though Republicans don't want to cancel any of the debt). It leads to disillusionment and indifference and has been taking place w/ every single national progressive policy that has been passed. Not to mention the fact that
Pell Grant recipients receive $20,000 instead of $10,000 (
which covers 57% of African American college attendees)
Back to the topic at hand. I agree w/ you. Tim Scott running as a token is going to put a dent in the AfAm vote. The fact that a CTE-addled idiot is neck and neck with Warnock or that Willie Wilson always gets the majority of the black vote in Chicago despite being a yuck-mouthed idiot who is on record as voting for Trump is a sign that there are a lot of black people that just see skin color as a reason to vote for someone. Also, AfAm's are disproportionately experiencing crime and more likely to overcorrect to conservative ways a la the 1980s w/ Reagan/Bush.
Hoping Cheney runs as an independent to balance things out.
