yo why doesnt anybody thrown spinning kicks to the legs nowadays like andy use to.Seems like a good technique.
if the other fighter has trained for it, they'll plant their leg or just sidestep/backpedal and that leaves you with your back turned and having to turn to face, leaving you vulnerable to big counters. In mma giving up your back is obviously a big no. someone like machida could dart backwards then come in with a heavy straight, or a wrestler like weidman could slam you off that rear bodylock.
But a few spinning kicks to the body could lure their knee upwards to block it, setting up a sweet sweep.
Though it would've been epic if someone did it in Pride then after the dude got swept, he got face stomped.

That threat of the axe kick had fighters retreating REAL far back whenever he feinted it
that enabled him to land so many body kicks
