You might just be a dumb assHonestly religion needs to be outlawed. It allows these nut jobs to continue spewing out the nonsense without repercussions because it protected under religious beliefs.
This country was founded because the settlers fled religious persecution and the way we've let religion infiltrate and dictate shyt to our society is astonishing. From strong arming their way with govt, into not paying any taxes, all the way down to telling girls what dresses they cannot wear to prom.
You might just be a dumb ass
You really are truly stupid aren't you, all this wikepedia and you still couldn't understand the context of your own original post
And you might just need to crack open a history book.
"King Henry the Eighth of England had separated from the Roman Catholic Church. His daughter, Queen Elizabeth, established the Protestant faith in England. It was called the Church of England, or the Anglican Church. The Anglican Church, however, was similar to the Roman Catholic Church. Not all Protestants liked this idea. Some wanted to leave the Anglican Church and form religious groups of their own. These people were called pilgrims. Pilgrims are people who travel for religious reasons."
"The Pilgrims, fleeing religious persecution, broke away from the Church of England because they felt the Church violated biblical principles of true Christians. Due to persecution and economic distress, they believed they had to break away from the Church of England to form congregations which were more in keeping with divine requirements. Coming out of the recent Reformation, the pilgrims believed the Church of England had not come far enough. The Church was under strict rule of the State so their actions were considered treasonous and these Separatists had to flee their homeland."
Technically they stopped in Amsterdam first, which they did find some religious leniency, before making their way to America. But their original reason for fleeing England was religious persecution.
