GSW in 5. I said the same about the OKC series, and boy was I wrong, but Cleveland can't bother the Warriors like OKC did. I feel like they're gonna go in trying to beat the Warriors while trying to play LIKE the Warriors (bombs away), and I can't see how it's remotely possible that they can win that way.
OKC basically had to bench Kanter cause they went at him relentlessly in the PNR, they're gonna do the same damn thing with Love. And Kyrie isn't nearly as physical as Russ is, so Curry and Klay will love that. LeBron gonna have shoot lights out from 3, cause you know they're gonna give it to him. And you KNOW Steph remembers everyone trying to shyt on him for not getting Finals MVP last year. Gonna be fun seeing what he does.
I just don't see how the Cavs can possibly win this series. We shall see though. I mean, that IS why they play the game(s), right?
You don't watch Cleveland basketball at all lol.
They're probably the most versatile team in the league. They've had 3 point record shattering games and games where they scored an ungodly amount of points in the paint while barely taking any 3's in the same postseason. If you have LeBron James on the floor, anything is possible. And for what it's worth, historically speaking Cleveland slows down the game and plays "ugly" against GSW to take them out their rhythm. GS' interior defense and rim protection is horrendous and they're going against 2 of the best paint finishers in the league in LeBron and Kyrie, who've just recently realized that when they run the PnR together they're more or less unguardable. But you add a new wrinkle into the game because unlike Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving can actually shoot. You can't sag off him and dare him to shoot 3s to prevent penetration, because he willb ury them.
Furthermore, Kyrie's defensive woes have entirely to do with effort and not lack of ability. When Kyrie is motivated, he's a pretty good defender. He put the clamps on Lowry several times in the Raptors series and outplayed Curry on both ends of the floor in G1 of the Finals. He's a gamer..he's going to play hard on both sides when the competition is there and everyone knows Kyrie loves to go at Curry. And regardless, Cleveland's entire second unit which plays with LeBron (Delly, Shump, etc) is dedicated to defense and our one of the best defensive units in the league.
The only real worry defensively is Love on Green. But Draymond Green is trash. There, I said it. LeBron pushed them to 6 with bums by
specifically not guarding Draymond Green. I'm dead serious, there's a whole article with pictures and analysis you can find about it. Love in the PnR against Curry will definitely be a scary sight but I'm more than confident Cleveland is already aware of that and it will be no.1 on their agenda of things to address--how to hide him.
And at the end of the day, Cleveland has so much offensive fire power that at times they can afford to have lapses defensively. OKC didn't and when WB/Durant struggled their offense completely stagnated. LeBron doesn't even have to score 20 now adays to blow out a team.
Try watching games before you talk out your ass. It's the NBA finals and intensity is gonna be sky high. Using regular season analytics as your measuring stick is fukking retarded. Westbrook is an ass defender but largely had Curry on lockdown this series. Why?
Competition.
