Honestly what I've pieced together from the little I believe is true out of all the media bs is
#1. Kawhi wants to be in LA
#2. Kawhi doesnt want to be the only star but doesnt want to be on a defacto superteam
#3. Kawhi reached out to KD this week cause he wants to play with a star but not on a superteam
But now that KD has chosen the Nets Kawhi is stuck on his decision on whether it is better to just be on a superteam in LA or be on a solid team in LA but bear a larger burden. Kawhi is a competitor. He doesn't want to be gifted a ring but he also doesn't want to die carrying a team.
That being said, the Lakers are the Lakers. The clippers would have to sell him on a less dysfunctional FO and a plan on bringing another at least psuedo star
