this nikka Kurt is playing power politics brehs.......when the Buss family (sans Jeanie) decided to hire MDA over Phil part of the reason for that was they were scared if they brought back Phil that he'd try to pull a coup of the team with Jeanie when Dr Buss died. We are now slowly seeing that come into play here. Phil is CLEARLY fukking her still, and both of them know the optics would look bad if she hired him. For one, he's had some bad blood with Bron. Two, Phil was trash in NYK and left on a bad note. Having Kurt run things with Phil in the background is the best and cleanest way for Jeanie/Phil to execute their original plan.
We will know for sure what's going on here when a new coach is hired.....don't surprised if the term "Triangle Offense" starts being tweeted by journalists soon
