Phil is STILL fukking Jeanie
Kurt is Phil's bff and his wife is Jeanie's bff......the plan is to consolidate power for the four of them....THAT was the original plan when Dr Buss died but Jeanie was too scared to go against her dad's wishes for Jim....
Rob Pelinka is simply Kobe's proxy. I no longer think he's fukking Jeanie since Phil is clearly still lingering. Kobe is not interested in working for the team so Rob is basically there is a symbol of Kobe's legacy. Rob was a favor to Jeanie, and in the last 2 years he's developed loyalty with Jeanie. He's probably a big kiss ass and sucks up to her a lot. I don't think he's fukking her tho.
Magic was the odd man out.....he may be like a brother to Jeanie but she probably ate real well off the Kobe retirement tour so feels like she owes him, and her loyalty is to Phil above all else. Kurt fills so many boxes for Jeanie (former player, former coach, hubby's bff and bff's husband) that I'm surprised she doesn't just officially name him PBO. Magic couldn't hire his own GM he had no chance.
ALL of this would've been avoided if Dr Buss would've never insisted on Jim being PBO. Mitch should've been promoted to PBO and 99% chance Mitch promoted Ryan west to GM since it was Ryan's dad who groomed Mitch in the first place. In this case Jeanie would've never had to get involved with the basketball shyt.
Jeanie is NOT going to go outside of her circle to find professionals.....all she's known her entire adult life is the Lakers, and the whole time it has been ran on some family shyt. Why would she go outside her circle to find a President or GM when her Dad never had to? She doesn't know any other way

LG is a bunch of fakkits......but that whole sexism angle is exactly why Jeanie never gets blame. No one wants to be that guy in the media blaming Jeanie and being tabbed a sexist.
