You cant compare his role as an agent to being a front office guy. Most agents are scumbags. That's literally his job. You're crazy if you think agent's are operating under good faith. Agents use the Lakers all the time to boost leverage for their clients i.e Paul George/Aaron Mintz
That’s the point. You can’t help but think how his perception and prior relationships as a agent is affecting or going to affect his future dealings with Free Agents and other teams in trade negotiations.
I’ve been thinking it is strange how he just got a GM job right after being a player agent. There should’ve definitely been a cooling off period between a job switch like that because of this. He went from representing players and their interests into being the guy on the other side holding all the cards. What’s stopping him from signing a bunch of scrubs he used to manage and get paid under the table or some other shady move like that.
He didn’t even have to take a lesser role to learn the functions of a GM or work under any other NBA organization. And we are supposed to believe he knows how to build a NBA team.
