Ehh Pelinka is just a figure head, they just needed a guy that could work with all the logistics of the GM spot . Magic is making all the decisions, he just needs Rob to make sure it works under the Cap. Magic ain't got time for that shyt

I think Kobe's cosigned Magic too. I mean if Kobe had lunch with Jeanie to tell her to fire Jim, Jeanie must've asked him ok who do I replace him with then? Obviously im just speculating but it's reasonable to assume Jeanie and Kobe discussed Magic.....Kobe probably cosigned cuz he knew he could get magic to hire rob :yeshrug:

This isn’t far fetched at all. Good theory. Jeanie has no clue what she’s doing (outside of the business and marketing side) and doesn’t go out of her bubble to help. The Lakers are all in on being basically a family business (Laker family).

Kobe definitely has a role in this mess. But my question is why the fukk did they not want Logo back but they were so quick to co sign Magic and Rob when they have no experience at their roles?

Short of luck, being a Laker stan, or wanting to use the brand to further boost their individual brand, this franchise isn’t equipped to be a player in the game right now. This organization looks more like an episode of Empire and less like a professional business. If the right people in charge are honest with themselves then things may improve but I get the feeling we haven’t hit rock bottom yet.

i dont think Jerry is the easiest to work with. He's made those "do what I say or I'm leaving" ultimatums at a few moments in his executive career. And obviously he was always right but idk, maybe Jeanie don't want to deal with it. I mean didn't Dr Buss basically choose PJ over Jerry back in the day? Jeanie must figure that bridge has been burned whereas Magic is basically like her brother.

Doc chose Jim over Logo. Phil was just tryna finesse his way in through Jeanie. But it’s a good point you make and I’ve wondered those same things. I think it just comes a time when you have to set pride aside and admit when someone actually is right and knows what’s best for the franchise. Hell, given that DLo had West’s co-sign he would’ve been immediately at odds with Magic over trading him.

Jerry West is a well respected GM/Executive. He also has great relationships with a number of GM's/Teams across the league. Jerry West could've pulled off the AD trade without giving up a King's ransom. West would've also surrounded Lebron and AD with a good supporting cast.

Basically.

It’s a matter of what’s best for your business. You bring him and let him choose the staff so that there’s something solid in place even in the event he passes on. It was the most no brainer move Jeanie could’ve made and she failed. Might’ve been a fateful decision because Ballmer won’t just let Logo go easy if they were even able to convince him.

I like the kid, but I've always hated on the Mo Wagner pickup because I thought Robinson was better for us

But I think I've just had an epiphany :leon:

I look at Domantis Sabonis, and see what Wagner will be in two years with proper devlopment, and as long as we don't trade him for cap space

Remember when Jerry West was the sole reason Klay Thompson wasn't traded for Kevin Love? This was at a time when Love was viewed as a top 5 player.

Wagner will be nice, people just need to be patient. He's an actual stretch 4-5, he's just not ready right now. However, I was vouching for Mitchell Robinson heavy, I didn't think he would be this good though so quick. However we have to account for the Luke Walton factor, on this team:

A) He wouldn't play cause Luke is a dumbass

B) Luke is a dumbass

Jerry West Couldn't Believe Lakers Traded Ivica Zubac To Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers offered Ivica Zubac to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Mike Muscala.

In recounting the trade details to close associates, Jerry West said he never offered any deals for the center and "couldn't believe" that the Lakers wanted to trade Zubac.

West and his friends laughed at he recounted the deal, according to sources.
