Point is, Steve Ballmer could afford $100M in luxury tax without blinking. His MSFT dividends alone get him $500M in cash payments every year.

This was before Lebron.

Currently the clippers are in a better situation with two cap spaces available and assets for trade. Raptors also have a great team around him built to win now.

Kawhi personality doesnt seem like he'd enjoy dealing with the lakers media attention especially with lebron part of the team on top of that.
