how much more punitive can you make a collection of fouls than to eliminate the player from the game? :what:

There's a solution to not having star players foul out: DON'T FOUL.

Actually fouling out is less impactful than coaches needing to manage a star players fouls when he gets into early foul trouble. A star player having to sit out long important stretches of games is bs. Fans pay to see the stars play. Then add how terrible NBA refs are with the ticky tack touch fouls, being fooled by flopping, & anticipating contact that never happens when a player challenges at the basket.

A rule that would reward a team 2 & the ball after a players 3rd foul in each half or after a total of 6 is punitive enough.

bring in the 3 point line to FIBA lengths. Makes the game more exciting.

You mean clog up the game so that big men become even more irrelevant? You want to encourage avg ass shooters and 6'11 PF-C's to stand around the perimeter looking to shoot 3's? You want to completely eliminate the mid-range game in the sport?

The only thing I want from FIBA is for the NBA to asorb their culture of allowing physical play.

Yeah, this basically. it's amazing how we went from the NBA in the 90s (when the NBA was clearly the more physical league) to this cheap-foul era (where international basketball is seen as being more physical).

I didn't actually watch a lot of the games at the Olympics but from what I did see, it seemed like NBA players were flopping less in London than in the Playoffs. That must be a concern for Stern and them.
