That's not the coach nor the player's concern. Can we agree to that?

Players should not be expected to care about lottery position. Sorry. And fans should not be condemned for encouraging 25 and under players to go out there have fun and play hard. Sorry.

Again, most of us agree that FO did what they needed to do to send Melo to a team competing for a chip and to set this team up in a way where we are rebuilding and projected to be in the lottery. I can understand the criticism of the fans who want the team to compromise the future by signing people who will get us to the 8th seed but fans who are just saying they'd like to see their young guys ball? Nah.

I really don't like tanking but to be serious contenders, you will need another top draft pick. You guys don't get one this season im sure KP will be moved or will leave in the future.

So nikkas expect dudes who have competed to win their whole lives to do what exactly? Give 50% effort to ensure they lose games? You expect these players to wait until random fickle Knick fan #673 decides the team is good enough to contend before they play to win every game? Being bad and getting a high draft pick is in our best interest for the future. Everyone is aware of that. But these players' job is not to worry about our draft position. Plus, if these cats did play shytty on purpose, like it seems some of y'all want, you think they could just turn the switch back on and play hard all of a sudden? It doesn't work that way.

Merci, GOAT | By Frank Ntilikina
What the fukk.

It's shyt like this why I love sports and my Knicks and my players.

I LOVE rooting for athletes that I can identify with.

This was beautiful!

That legacy that his mother established in her children as a result of what she went through is going to continue to propel that family.

Whenever I debate race issues and I hear the "my family came here from [Insert European Country] and faced discrimination but succeeded in the U.S, why can't African Americans shut up and pull themselves up by their bootstraps], I always bring up exactly what Ntilikina just articulated -

When you come from a mindstate that pretty much has an established" homeland" and historic journey from overseas, you bring with you the spirit and memory of your ancestors and documented survival of calamity... That is what props immigrants to have a spiritual chip on their shoulder that helps them have the mentality of "I'm not going to fail in this Country of opportunity because of what my parent brought to this Country."

People need to understand that African Americans were stripped of the ability to pass down history, memory, language and legacy of a homeland. Rinse and repeat through hundreds of years of Enslavement.

It is much harder to recover, even in a land of opportunity, when it's difficult for you to have a frame of reference that goes beyond the shores of America.

Sorry y'all. I love this kid even more now.

I was the first one in my fam born in the US. I don't take that shyt for granted in the slightest. Frank might be the most mature person out of this draft. Plus he's already played pro ball. I always do my best to not overrate or put too much pressure on rookies, but I want this nikka to succeed so much:wow:

You can't really compare immigrants to natives. Think about it. Regardless of the motivation, if you move to another country you're most likely very motivated and in hustler mode.

The average person hears just chilling.

I still want to see if LT can regain his spirited play. If he can then I would alter your lineup with him at the 3 and THJR at the 2.

My hatred for Lance's game is well documented but if he gets a grip on his shooting when given space and if the Knicks are really letting the wings set screens for big men like Latvia did; Lance would fit the line-up. That said, I'll wait to see his game and I'd be terrified that he takes it upon himself to try to do way too much which has always been my top complaint for him.

No doubt he is one of those players that shoots the ball more than he should. But there was a period in time where he was actually making those shots and clutch ones at that. I actually value his defensive effort on the perimeter more than his offense. I remember watching him 2 years ago closing out the open player on our switches. I remember watching YouTube videos specifically comparing his closeout defense to that of other Knicks players that were not getting the job done. In addition, I saw him cover other player's missed defensive assignments and saved two points. Repeatedly. I'm not saying that he's an All-Pro Defender. But he was playing good to great defense at times and he did not give up points like other Knicks players did.
