There's hope

an acl is unforeseen on a player this tall.
probably the tallest nba player to have a knee injury of this magnitude
but modern medicine has made its strides.....it couldve been an achilles (way worse)

@tremonthustler1 I can see KP getting to a solid 260 and possibly wirey strength like KD.
He wont make it there in this off season...or next....but he can fill out by the time he's 25-26
Theres only 3-4 physically dominant centers in the league thats well over 270.
He can get a frame like gobert...but alas...even he's injury prone.

He doesn't need to get up to 270, he'd be fine playing C if he worked on his body more, Gobert is a little shorter and 5lbs heavier but looks a lot stronger than Kristaps. He'd be fine at 255lbs if he gains more strength, the point though is to stop allowing him to play PF. Draft Marvin Bagley, anything to force Kristaps into playing C, he's not going to last at the 4.

and Rudy can't stay healthy either. Some guys with that frame are just more vulnerable to injury whether they're earth bound like Gobert or have more athleticism like Porzingis.

The bigger problem is that he'd have to drastically change how he plays, because to not do the stuff he does now is to waste some of what makes him special.

Fam, Rudy's injuries are usually a result of something like this -

Kristaps has had a lot of smaller injuries, where as Rudy it's the same knee getting trucked by dudes.

He can do the same things at the 5 offensively, the difference is to move him away from guarding guys on the perimeter and cut down on him chasing aroung 6'7-6'9 guys on the perimeter. The wear and tear of having to chase around guys on the perimeter all game is not good for a 7 footer, it's not the early 2000s, the PF position now has a lot of small forwards playing the spot.

and the C position has a lot of PF's playing the spot. there's only but so much he can do about that.

I’m recovering from a torn Achilles and wishing I tore my acl instead. Longest recovery timeline ever :bryan:

I’m sure it’s already been mentioned, but how many times did it look like KP was on the verge of a serious injury after an awkward landing over the years? What is it about the way he takes off for dunks that he always seems to be slipping when he comes down?

This franchise has caused me so much heartbreak over the past decade. I won't ever get excited about the Knicks again unless they WIN the NBA Finals and that probably won't happen as long as I live :mjcry:.
