@storyteller analysis. I forgot that was one of the best parts of Coli Knicks Season.
I was very happy with what I saw and I also agree that nerves/excitement had a lot to do with many of the deficiencies.
It does seem that the positive locker room vibe amongst our younger guys is still present.
I'm really hoping that cuts happen as early as before Friday's game against the Wizards. We don't have 16 preseason games to experiment with fringe roster players.
This game should be enough to know who needs to be sent to G-League or cut out right.
The remainder of our preseason needs to be assessing situational responses such as plays coming out of a timeout, clock management, coming back from a deficit, HOLDING A LEAD, and roster chemistry amongst our definite players to determine who should be playing with each other throughout the games.
That's not something that Hornacek should be experimenting with in the first actual games.
As of now, I'm liking Sessions support of Frank. You can see it on the sidelines. Contrary to casual belief, you don't need a Hall of famer to mentor you on the fundamentals of ball. You need a professional, a person who knows how the NBA works, how the refs make calls and who is not too much of a diva to answer the stupid questions a rookie is likely to have.
I believe Kanter should start but only play for limited minutes in the first unless he's in a groove and Willy should be out there by the first time out.
Although I still believe Doug should start, I'll admit that we have better options. I DO WANT DOUGIE getting minutes along Frank and Kris. He's bound to be forgotten by the defense and his ability to get open or cut to the basket really would be boosted by Frank's passing ability.
Timmy has not impressed me with his defense but he did impress me with his work ethic on both sides of the court even though he had issues.
Anyway, let's thank the basketball gods that the season is upon us.
