I really liked this article because it highlights how important the administrative state is for keeping us safe, especially in situations like the one she described. I completely agree with her concerns about Trump and Project 2025. The idea of dismantling agencies like the CDC is terrifying, especially when you think about how horribly Trump handled the COVID-19 pandemic. I've been alive for a fair bit of time now and never experienced anything like that. COVID-19 scared the shyt out of me. It was legit frightening watching how unprepared and dismissive the Trump administration was while people were dying. It drove the point home how much we rely on these systems to protect us, and how dangerous it could be if they're weakened, destroyed, or taken over by anti-science fools like Trump.
