Why does Detroit need a forest?
Detroit needs jobs and stability. Not some fukking trees, and elk.
a forest can provide jobs and stability tho.
first off it's an endless supply of clean food, which is invaluable.
there will also be jobs for everyone involved in the process of growing/packaging/distributing the food grown.
plus im sure there will be other natural resources produced by the forest that are beneficial to the society, and possibly also have business potential. so thats even more jobs and sustainability.
the city could also clean up a small section of the forest and make it like a mini-central park with bike paths, bball courts, lots of natural scenery, little vendor shops, etc., which would be another source of revenue and jobs for the city.
plus forests create a better environment for us physiologically because they help with oxygen creation and to offset pollution.
there are few things more valuable to humans than a piece of land that is a functional ecosystem.
