the point he made about folks not fukkin with alot of Black artists, until White folks do.. applies to the artists he went on to name..

i dont know if you lack reading, or basic-level comprehension.. or, just in here trying to find a way to discredit his statement.. probably both.. he has an entire label compromised of lesser-known artist & producers.. he's a instructor at a lesser-known university.. he still works with lesser known artists.. if he'd have to interject that, after what he said, you would be in here on some, "he just using this moment to promote his artists.."

some of yall are just miserable, and need an outlet to nitpick and discredit sh!t people say.. we get it.. this isnt one of the time, and what he said is nothing short of fact.. no need to re-word it because some user on thecoli.com cant understand the overall message..

:mjlol: So now we going to the good ol coli,”y’all miserable” route huh?:russ:

Read my first reply, he went to my school and i have nothing but respect for the man, so calm the fukk down :rudy:.

In regards to BJ, Anderson Paak, SIR & Daniel Cesar he said, ‘go out buy/stream their music, popularize them and stop waiting for mainstream to tell you to like them...’ Again, these artist are popular artist. That’s where the disconnect is, don’t encourage people to look for lesser known artist and name Grammy nominated artist - what part of that isn’t clear?:mindblown:

Fam I laughed real hard at that shyt, I was reading Black Panther comics nearly 30 years ago, I remember trying to put heads up on to it way back when, fools hit me with the side eye and mocked that shyt, fast forward to present day those same folks are experts on BP all of a sudden :martin:

movie showed you lowkey how the oppressor will train one of your own to take you out, CIA agent suddenly knew everything about Killmonger after waking up in wakanda, yeah OK, that infiltration was smooth as baby shyt, :sas2:

Case in point

which is dumb because people do support those artist they just dont get exposure. paak is starting to get exposure since he signed to dre and apple gone help push him.

saying “go support the artist you like” isnt the right thing to say when people have been doing that and they still on the outside looking in.
My feelings exactly. I can’t even count how many albums from black artists (who make better music than Bruno) I’ve purchased in the past few years. I have no problem going out and supporting great music period.

facts....I told someone this same thing when they were complaining about R&B being dead because the error in their logic is based on what they see in the top 40 vs all the great r&B that's not on the charts

some of my favorite releases from last year alone, were R&B joints(Brent Faiyaz, Sampha, Syd, 6lack, H.E.R.)..

theres still alot of good R&B out there..

I agree......lowkey my favorite writer, Quantum and Woody though :obama:

You didn't like Hudlins run?
I've been told to avoid it and seeing as how he had BET broadcast his and Storm's marriage, I may have dodged a bullet :heh:

You did, that was corny, his run isn't bad if you can forgive the Storm angle, it's the comic book equivalent of stunt casting she's Claremont's creation anyway so......

9th is completely correct. As someone who always buys music, it makes me laugh when people collectively wanna talk about the mainstream pushing trash artists but never dip into their pockets to move the sales needle.

People wanna complain about Bruno Mars, but how many people have bought the latest projects from SiR, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Alex Isley, Illa J, Mack Wilds, Zo!, +FE, Anderson .Paak, etc.

I could go on a list loads of great R&B artists that have put out quality music (that I’ve bought) over the last 2 years but people would rather sit in their armchairs and wave their fists at the sky.
