Im pretty sure njpw had plans for him as a singles wrestler in the jr division but he kept getting hurt right when he was getting pushed in tournaments or single runs

Pretty much the story of his career. Every time TNA was gonna push MCMG to the moon, either Alex or Sabin would get hurt. It's a testiment to their talent, that despite never getting a mega-push, MCMG are still one of the most influential tag teams to the current tag team scene.
