You know someone's gonna put a hell of a beating on Brandon Figueroa in the not too distant future but this dude Vasquez not gonna be the guy for the job.
Looking forward to the card though, 3 of them look very good on paper, the 2 main events and Casimero vs Micah.
Don't know much about the guy Nery is fighting, he's unbeaten but with a padded record, seemingly average punching power and hasn't fought outside Mexico yet. He's an "opponent".

Rewatched Rosario vs J Rock and Charlo vs Harrison II since, lot less confident in my pick. Rosario was more disciplined than I remembered and he was creative with his punches and Charlo looked one dimensional when Harrison pressured him with a conservative high guard even though he won by KO at the end. Still picking Charlo but less sure.

Rewatched it just now. Still not that high on Rosario. Defense is average and he's not nearly as fluid with his punches as jermell. But on the other hand jermell's defense can get leaky too. So I could see both guys getting hurt early. I just feel like Charlo is the more disciplined fighter. He impressed me in that Harrison rematch. He took his time and broke Tony down mentally. Even when he was struggling he kept his composure and stuck to the plan. I could see it going either way but I just feel like jermell is gonna get the KO. I don't think Rosario can absorb charlos power shots like he did j rock.

I agree with all of that.

Charlo showed things in that Harrison fight he hadn't shown thus far.

One thing though is that Rosario has power in both hands. He can really bang. Pause. Never underestimate a banger between 145 - 160. shyt changes in the blink of an eye.

That's why I love fights between boxer-punchers. Cause you get a fight that can end at any moment on both sides. Makes that shyt suspenseful.

Even though I think charlo's experience will win out. I don't think we've ever seen him in there with somebody who's willing to stand and trade with him. Somebody possibly stronger than him. So it'll get interesting. But I think Charlo will be able to handle whatever Rosario brings. He's more predictable than Harrison.

But It's a damn shame there's not gonna be a crowd for these fights:beli:....The energy woulda been crazy.

Absolutely.

Super Welter is such a dope weight class. They still just have that lighter fighter movement, but with the heavier hands.

I haven't seen that many new things from Charlo tbh, I knew he has stamina and power well into the fights too, Harrison was rather surprising with his approach on the rematch, he took the fight to Charlo and for plenty of rounds he did well, but he always had problems with his gas tank and concentration plus he started to showboat so he got clipped, fair play to Charlo, as angsty that dude sounds outside the ring he can focus in the ring.

The Charlos are like good craftsmen in boxing. They never gonna have that touch that makes a fighter special but they are athletic, well prepared, tough and they have correct punching technique + counters. Their disadvantage is their lack of offensive creativity and basic footwork hence they are struggling when someone with a good lateral movement and solid defense comes across.

Roario won't be the one who outboxes Jermell for 12 rounds, I'm gonna say this though, rewatching his fight with J Rock that dude set some nice ass traps to J Rock, pull counters and shyt, plus he was very creative and accurate with his punches, had a good sense of timing too. He got caught by J Rock's punches in the first 2-3 rounds but tbf J Rock ain't no slouch either, he just beat up Hurd prior and I think he is a faster boxer than Charlo and gives you more looks. Jermell is definitely a more dangerous puncher than J Rock though with some great counters and seems to be more durable/better chin than J Rock to @chunky_mcdaniels I see you actually are picking Rosario to win. :ehh:

As I said I'm still picking Jermell Charlo to win but I'm less sure in it and I wait for this fight now more than before.

Thats a good summation.

You're right about the Charlos being good craftsmen, well drilled, conditioned etc, but without the next level finesse of the super elite. In a lot of ways they mirror their stablemate Spence (funny that), but lack his amateur pedigree and deft touch.

Yeah i put a little something on Rosario to win a month back. He impressed me against J Rock. He got that want to better him and his peoples too. His story is dope.:salute:

IF the Charlos ever went to the body like Spence they’d be different fighters next time you rewatch their fight you’ll notice that.

Is Michel Rivera vs Ladarius Miller still on this card? I don't see it listed on boxrec
