I do that shyt with a bunch of shows. Got the black sails still sitting and Fargo. And a few other sitcoms. Better to marathon it.
THIS ..

Plus the DVR changed how we watched TV. When I first got my DVR back in like '99 or so,I used to DVR stuff and then watch it right away. Then one month I remember I was so busy that I couldnt do that and then I watch ed like 6 episodes of smallville in a row ... after that I was in Heaven ... no more 1 week of anxiety for the next episode... i'll just wait unitl i get a few saved up then I'll do a mini marathon. I've been doing that ever since.

How we watched TV has changed and the Networks havent caught up yet.. the only thing the networks done was change the start/end times by a minute or two to screw up our recodings.
SYFY does the best IMO when they run a show the entire 13 episode run then change shows.. this makes it almost impossible to do constant dvd marathons...

Nothing is MUST WATCH anymore.. it can all wait .. there's nobody at the job talking abut episode so and so of show abc ... there's to many damn channels and shows now, its hard to find 2 people in the space who watches the same shyt so y'all can talk about it at the water cooler ... (not really but it helps my argument)

the last much watch i saw for me was the LEgo Simpsons episode and eventhat I didnt watch actually live but like 10 minutes delayed (but that the closest I've gotten to live TV besides sports in a LOOOOOOONG time) and before that I made it my business to watch the final season of Smallville live (even though I was dvr'ing it still)

only time I talk about tv shows is here. Everyone in the real world seems to be watching other stuff or bs reality shows.

I actually liked a few of the new shows on network TV

The problem is most of them got cancelled

These networks dont care about how good the shows are.Its all about the ratings and how much it costs to make the shows

:mindblown:I really dont understand why they have not tried to change atleast a little bit.. A show like young justice or Avenger EMH can be great but they cancel because of the toys not doing well, like only little kids watch cartoons, like the marvel and DC universe hasnt been around forever, people watched when they were younger and then grew up still a fan especially with the movies coming out, shyt they arent aimed at kids... :mindblown:
Problem with network tv is that networks don't allow the shows to grow into their own. Shows now barely get 10 eps before getting cancelled, which doesn't allow an audience to find them. Plus since shows get cancelled so quickly people aren't willing to get invested into the show on the first place. Im sure shows like breaking bad, the wire, ect would've been canceled with the quickness after their first season.
Exactly!1!!!! These networks act like everyone knows these new shows exist and are good enough or worth my time watching after half a season,:aicmon: They should give every show atleast the whole season to decide if people like it or not. I didnt know Arrow existed before the second season, and its a great show, and I watched other shows on CW and I never really saw them promoting Arrow..

Thats what I am saying, these networks act like everyone that is interseted in their shows has the time to take evey week to be infront of the tv at that excat time:rudy:,Then when you do have time the show is on some random hiatus for a few weeks and you have now made time for nothing. The DVR is the greatest compliment to a cable subscription ever, it allows the person who has a job that is needed to pay the cable bill to be able to actually watch what he is paying for.......... And yes marathon watching is the only way I watch tv shows, I hate having to wait until next week or two weeks because its a holiday and now i am off work with nothing to watch due to reruns...

So I say all that to say these networks need to catch up with the way people are watching tv

and whats up with OnDemand and Hulu not having complete seasons:dahell: how does it make sense to only be able see the last few episodes:dahell: I am paying hulu and for these channels with my cable, I should have access to the whole season..

Thats what I'm saying ... back in the days people talked about TV shows... fresh prince, Cosby, Murder She wrote, etc... It kept the interest up...
Back in the days all the really good shows came on network tv for free, there was no competiton from cable, there wasnt even that many channels to choose from. unless its sports you are not gonna get a bunch of people to stop what they are doing to tune in, and its even starting to get hard to do that with sports

most tv shows are blah and nothing really new or redeeming. I mess more with netflix cactching up on old tv shows than I do watching.

The only tv show I watch now that's on tv and new really is game of thrones and 24

when sons of anarchy comes back ill hop in
same with arrow, flash, vikings.

This is exactly why that Gotham show is gonna fail. Wtf are they gonna do for 24 episodes without batman.

Even the network shows I do like, like arrow, could really benefit from shorter seasons

Monster of the week shows work better when there's a plot thread that ties it together. 10 seasons of Supernatural proves that it can work.

Sometimes it gets annoying as shyt. It's like watching an anime. They're in the middle of a big season long battle and in the middle "ohp, everything that has happened to these characters this season is on pause while they go fight some random shyt"

"Supernatural" is not a good example of this because it's a Serial Drama 1st that mixes in a lot of stand-alone episodes.

What you meant was a procedural that mixes in lingering storylines. Shows that fit this example are "House M.D.", "Bones", & "Castle" off the top of my head.

i'm still at awe about cbs. cbs shows are the pinnacle of bad tv. i would like to meet a person who actually thinks 2 and half men and the big bang theory is funny and slap them in the face.
I don't think they're hilarious but I enjoy watching them. They have their moments here and there, and I missed the entire Charlie sheen era. Almost all sitcoms have been declining tho.

Are you talking about only Network TV or cable included? If you're only talking about Network TV, you're probably right. But cable still has a few must watch-water cooler talk shows.

:comeon: There's no way you can be a regular CW viewer & NOT heard about "Arrow" during the 1st season. Not only was it 1 their most highly anticipated new shows EVER & it was The CW's biggest hit on the network after "The Vampire Diaries" during that season.

I guess but it has fallen into the case of the week trap more than once. I don't like people telling me what I meant, though.

You hittin real close to home breh. There's no WAY a show like Almost Human shouldn't get at least two more seasons to expand and grow, especially given that the rating were solid. It's like the Network Gods giveth and taketh away because we got a second season of Shield but no Almost Human? Genre television should be a mandated three season commitment from networks. Look at Arrow, the first season had its rough points but the second season was:blessed:
