#8 was a sidekick to shaq, #24 was a sidekick to pau gasol. It's a toss up really
Please don't let emotion get in the way of your thought process bruh lol. Shaq saw something in kobe that took bean YEARS to realize. He damn near took multiple seasons off because he knew bean was that good and could carry the team to the playoffs. Shaq would reach season form damn near at the end of the season reaching the beginning of the playoffs and would demand alpha status. What happens when bean realizes what's up, shaq openly starts being a cancer and sabotaging the team. Ninja would hold off necessary surgeries and take turns turning the team against each other. And dude had the nerve to wonder why bean isolated himself.
It took time for kobe to adjust to the psychological damage shaq did to him man. Shaq made him a mule for selfish reasons for YEARS. When bean realized he didn't have do so much, shyt clicked and he gave pau, fisher, and the rest of the squad some play. That's number #8 bean i'm talking bout.
Afro/#8 Kobe era, I'm speaking purely from a nostalgia point of view.

He had a video on his official website years ago claiming its the number of the shot clock, hours in a day, and all sorts of other shyt. I think I still have it somewhere on an old hard drive. I can't seem to find it on YouTube.
Last two seasons with 8 he was a monster but he was still refining his game and more importantly than that still losing. First year of 24 is his peak. Finally got the mvp award, made it to the finals and was unquestionably regarded as the best player in the league. After that he it declines. Still winning championships but it was obvious he was slowing down.

He was the best player since Jordan in those first few years without Shaq..if he woulda had his 09-10 squad when he was rockin number 8..he would more than likely have 6-7 chips.

Then Frobe da gawd
Then post 3 peat he was at the peak of his powers
#24 was a seasoned vet that still dominated, but I always said people underestimate how much athleticism Kobe lost after that first knee surgery. He was still a god and had prime abilities, but was not nearly as terrifying on the court as when he was in #8

I actually think no8 kobe had a better offensive game.... just completly raw ... 24 kobe was a more complete player.... as a bron fan i really wished we could of saw a kobe vs bron 09 or 10 finals.. i think we would of saw the best from both of em and brons my dude but kobes defense was underated and i dont think bron would just be able to drive to the basket all day on kobe and vise versa... kobes jumpshot though is solid and i think that would of been the diffrence unless bron is magic johnson on steroids n his team is getting him assist
