Spence had to fly to Cleveland to get everything scanned before doctors would let him resume activity following his accident, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't be able to spot a torn retina but the Nevada State Athletic Commission doctors did. Its more than likely a new injury.

Spence got his face broke by his sparring partner. He's not the same guy anymore. This current version of Spence will struggle greatly with ugas.

You have the retina confused with the orbital bone, no telling how it exactly happened though, even a thumb to eye, or rubbing your own eye too hard can cause retinal damage. Spence would be blind in that eye by now if it occurred during the accident untreated.
