This isn’t serious math.So the 15% sales lost on Xbox and 9% on PC basically went to Playstation.
More revenue for Sony without having the marketing rights and increased sales.
But Concord costs 400 million
This isn’t serious math.
You’re missing the point where Xbox now owns call of duty.the splits before the acquisition were 50% playstation and 25% PC and Xbox
Xbox down 15% and PC down 9%. And those numbers shifted to Playstation.
It's actually simple math.
And we're talking sales, not necessarily users since everyone figured Xbox sales would decrease with it being on Gamepass. Same with PC.
Girl mathThis isn’t serious math.
no I'm not. i said strictly game sales. they get more revenue now since they get the 70% instead of 30% now, so it's still a win. But now they are footing the bill to pay for the development and marketing so you don't just get to keep the 30% like before. But still a net positive. You’re missing the point where Xbox now owns call of duty.
Also, you’re making the assumption that the only players are only players who purchased the game instead of gamepass.
You’re right, it’s simple math, you just weren’t being serious.
They are getting 100 percent more of PlayStation sales because they weren't getting any at all before they bought ABK. That's a HUGE number for 1 game, in the ABK catalog.no I'm not. i said strictly game sales. they get more revenue now since they get the 70% instead of 30% now, so it's still a win. I already said GP accounts on PC and Xbox account for the loss in retail sales. Did you just skip over that part?
I said all of this. Yes they have to pay for development and were going to suffer a loss in retail sales due to Gamepass, but I said and quote "it's still a net positive" because they are getting the 70% cut now. They are getting 100 percent more of PlayStation sales because they weren't getting any at all before they bought ABK. They also now get 70 percent instead of 30 percent on sales on Xbox, and 100 percent more on whatever other platform the game is available on.
On top of that it makes Gamepass more attractive, and some news subs will stick around which could net far over a 1 time sale.
It's literally all positives.
They have to pay for development, marketing, and server upkeep, its not free money
The stuff MS has to pay for now development wise has always been part of development cost, if anything some of that cost goes down based on the new resources ABK should have on hand.I said all of this. Yall fussing to fuss.
I thought it would honestly be less than 10% of sale on Xbox due to Gamepass. shocked it was still 10%.
Actually worked out good for both parties as crazy as that sounds.
yeah, I think they said awhile back that most of COD's revenue comes from microtransactionsIsn't this just UK sales?
The key for xbox and pc gamepass is how many of the users retain their subs and if it influenced them to buy a battle pass and other mtx.
You didn't have to pay dev costs when it was Activision Blizz. Your 30% was all yours. Out of that 70% they get now from other platforms, you gotta pay for a game that costs 200 milll to make before marketing. But yes it's still a net positive pretty easy with the amount of sales it produces. The stuff MS has to pay for now development wise has always been part of development cost, if anything some of that cost goes down based on the new resources ABK should have on hand.
And I agree it's a win for everyone all around...which is exactly what Microsoft said it would be.
The crazy thing is it could have been WAY better for Sony if Jim had took the original deal offered.
