Outside of HHH, I think Xpac was legitimized the most by it. He was kind of considered underrated (like, people knew he could go, and pound for pound was as good as anybody in the ring at the time, but wasn't big enough to be taken seriously as a top contender type). HHH needed it alongside HBK.

But D'Lo was the belt's best champion.

This match shows the importance of a TV/European-type championship. Two of the fed's young guns getting 15-20 in Madison Square Garden, and it's a good back and forth match.

With the embarrassment of riches/shows WWE has ... it would occupy those lower/midcard guys a good bit on Main Event, the occasional NXT, etc.
