ZSJ is just smooth as fukk with his submissions and transitions into them. Like they look like (and are) real legit subs and not like “wrestling fake” looking ones. He be twisting and torquing the fukk out these dudes like he trynna make a pretzel.

I still a year later can’t get over what he did to Juice last year. That shyt was painful as fukk.

If y’all forgot, Skip to the end and watch what he did to Juice:damn::damn::damn:

He fukked Tanahashi up too:damn:

His NJ Cup run where he ended everybody with a different submission was :picard:

That Orienteering with Napalm Death :damn:

Okada actually got a near-great match out of Ospreay :wow: I mean, nothing of consequence happened in the first half of the match, but there's nothing like an Okada finishing run when he's really on. We say it all the time, but dude is really something special.

Whole night was full of good to great stuff, actually. ZSJ/Fale was a good appetizer with a great finish, Tanahashi and Archer continue to have pretty damn good tournaments, and KENTA embraces his heel side while EVIL shows that he may actually make a great babyface at some point. KENTA/EVIL was the best of those, but they're all worth seeing if you have time to kill. Only G1 match that didn't totally hit for me was Ibushi/SANADA, but that wasn't even bad...just kinda...there.

We still haven't gotten that classic that just about every G1 of the past few years seems to have, but there have been a lot of quality matches so far. No night's disappointed yet.

yeah this one is all around better than last year but it hasn't hit the highs of last year's joints. Ishhii busting up champion Omega :wow: left that man leaking pause :wow: Ibushi/Omega :wow:

I think Okada/Ospreay is my favorite match so far. But I seem to say this every night...it's impossible to even keep up with match rankings. I do agree that we've not had that MOTY level crazy match but every night usually has at least one killer match. Less skippables than last year.

I'm thinking Okada vs KENTA is match of the tournament contender. The closest we can get to a rematch to Okada and Shibata's classic from 2017, and both being potentially undefeated sets it up well. Not sure where it's on the schedule though.

I enjoyed SANADA vs Ibushi, but I see a lot of people talking about SANADA showing more personality and charisma...i dunno....i don't really see it. What's he doing differently? He still seems like he's missing something to me. Like what is his persona supposed to be? He seems to just switch up his hair cut and ring entrance gear every year but nothing really changes.

SANADA/Ibushi have great chemistry, those two play off each other very well. This wasn't as good as previous matches between them though.

Okada/Ospreay was mostly a testimony to how fukking great Okada is. Like the man might be overpushed as shyt and whatnot, but that man's in-ring awareness is second to none. Even something as simple as Ospreay hitting that loud ass chop that exploded through the building that Okada sold for a good 15 seconds by staying down in the corner, the man just has perfect awareness. It's really a shame that Ospreay still refuses to not use every bit of choreography he has in every single match.

:wow:

As amusing as the tantrums were ZSJ going full :mjgrin:after a countout win over Fale, and lying in his backstage promo about tapping him out is :laff:

ZSJ and Archer getting Hogan in 85 babyface pops at Korakuen is hilarious.

If Cokeboy was running New Japan he'd be in Kevin Kelly's ear telling him to mention bizarro world

This Japanese chick with that phantom of the opera guy is kinda cute. He bought to fight some other unknown Japanese guy. Match I want to see in this one is Ishii vs Mox. Stone Pitbull vs Lunatic Fringe, should be a good one. :banderas:
