Na i think that's what the defence is trying to say. That he got a heads up on the kidnapping to try and paint the kidnapping as a stunt organised by 69 himself for publicity.
Edit: as for him being planted, i believe he got caught up at an earlier date by ice and turned ci after that. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually told 69 before his final interview seeing as how close they were to each other.
