That's about all you can do because a female can have non-painful blisters in her coochie, or have JUST got done with an outbreak and be shedding the virus (which usually has zero signs), OR they can look like a single, or a cluster of razor bumps.
It won't come up positive on a blood test until after you've had an outbreak, but it's only accurate like 4-5 months after said outbreak.
Reason being that your body's immune system needs time to make the antibodies to fight it, which is what the blood test looks for.
