Even if they were to pick a new candidate, it would have to be Kamala Harris or the party in-fighting would cost the Democrats the election. The optics of passing over the current vice president, that's a black woman, for Gavin Newsom would be terrible because it's left to the party to pick the candidate as opposed to the voters. And even then, Kamala Harris isn't popular/well liked enough to win the election.

The concept itself makes sense but the subtext is, Biden couldn't even patriciate in a televised debate, how can he run the country?

you're not wrong about the subtext, but we saw visually that he couldn't participate productively in a debate last night.... i'm not saying he shouldn't do the debate in september, i'm just saying he needs more articulate voices spreading his message because he's not good at spreading it...

and really most people wouldnt care to tune in. Pete Buttigieg debating the merits of his infrastructure plan doesnt really hook in a mainstream audience

again, you're not wrong, most people wouldn't tune in.... but enough might... the margins are thin so if you can bring in 50k, 20k, even 10k votes, that could mean the difference between winning a swing state and losing a swing state... it's just a thought... we are going to need to cobble together a lot of things to pull this election off....

the msm is clearly all in on Biden losing, the SCOTUS rulings today sobered a few people up but the way the debate and Biden's performance has been characterized has been inexcusable

The media. Trump has been an useful idiot in one fashion or another his entire adult life. It's safe to ignore him because that's when he's more of a danger to himself trying to live up to the idea of him being some sort of alpha male.

Strategically I don't have a problem with the debate. It happened early enough to be prepared for the debate that will count prior to the election.

The mainstream media is all in on trying to save itself in an era where social media makes it less relevant. They need conservatives and their advertising which is why year after year they strain even more to bend over backwards to appear balanced and more apolitical.
