This is an interesting take considering:

We just saw this play out the complete opposite way in the republican primary.

Big difference - Trump is popular within his own party. It's basically a Trump cult.

That just isn't and never was the case for Biden. Nobody was ever crazy about Biden, people just didn't want to take any chances against Trump and he was seen as the safest option, being an old moderate white guy who was Obama's VP.

But that was four years ago when he had a >50% approval rating. Right now, between his age, approval and Gaza stuff I think Biden is a drag on the party.

The DNC really needs to do something to get these older politicians to retire. The party needs really needs another Obama (ie. someone young and charismatic). I don't know why these older politicians won't step down, I'd retire at 40 if I could.

Optically how does Harris just bow out? Would her ego even allow it?

She could just say she's not interested in running at this time. :yeshrug:

Whether her ego would allow it is a different question, but she could always just decide she doesn't want to run right now. She's not obligated to.

An apology is owed to the American people and Democratic voters specifically.

The Dem party bosses knew this dude’s brain was fried, but did everything they could to gaslight us into thinking we were crazy for recognizing his decline.

IMO it's more on Biden himself than the party. I don't know who "Dem party bosses" is but I doubt anybody can force him to step down if he refuses to.

Ultimately Biden himself is the leader of the party. I can't blame the entire DNC for Biden's ego.

:gucci:

Who's mans is this?
Fam, let me ask you a sincere question. Why does it seem like you're getting a kick out of all this? Between shyt poll posting and laughing while the dems are down.

all this complaining and yet in november the american voters will get the country going in a direction they want. a trump presidency is a win for black [collar] jobs, palestinians, ukranians, hispanic job theft prevention and many more. he's uniting a coalition of the left and far right. unlike dubya, he means it when he says he's a uniter not a divider.

He survived a recall election to get him outta there which in California is very hard to do

He destroyed DeSantis where did you read he didn't?

He is the guy in 2028
He might be the guy right now if the Democrats are so damn upset with him. Idk if Kamala would be a better option or not. Then again it might not be a bad idea to have the VP step in the President side and select her own VP.

No, don’t do this you idiot. Nothing I said was in support of Trump and i’m disgusted that he isn’t in prison, but about to be president due to this inept administration. You’re out here riding for this sundowning man who is a racist. You are out of your Got damn mind.

how fukking gullible are you? these same people were sucking Biden off after the SOTU but now CNN and MSNBC and Democratic Senators and Congresspeople are all secretly MAGA because they're acknowledging the reality of Biden sundowning live on TV?

Plus, telling voters that a candidate has a cold in the middle of a summer that's been nothing but heat wave after heat wave feels like a terrible excuse for a candidate when everyone viewing the debate came away with a collective "I don't think that guy can make it another 4 years."

She should put the country before her ego.
This is what I hope. If she can grasp that Biden just doesn't have a way back, then hopefully she can acknowledge the polls showing she doesn't have a path forward either.

There is an irony to the idea that Biden will shirk tradition and stand down, only for Dems to blindly follow tradition and elect the VP even tho her polling is underwater

Old people don’t step down anywhere. I can tell you that as a lawyer.
