There is some level of truth here. Kobe has benefited from the same "He won early" pass that the likes of Brady and Jeter have received. This pass allows you to fukk up and have that either ignored or somehow spun into a positive and makes you immune to "can he get over the hump" type questions/criticisms. Every less than shining instance team wise or individually isn't dissected or a reflection on you.

Dude has made a career of being a beast. Shaq certainly helped. Gasol helped to a lesser extent. Most superstars don't do shyt when they are alone.
