I think he probably didn’t want to get hit due to the criticism Haney received after getting buzzed.
He missed out on getting a highlight reel KO or stoppage on Sportscenter. Instead, they show some scrub MMA guy getting a KO as the opener to SC.

He was exciting when being a crash test dummy for Prov etc ....the point is to win he won decisively and is on to a belt. Be whatever you are in boxing if you are a defense first guy be the best at it. These fighters let fans and media talk them into getting fukked up and then those same people will be calling them "exposed" and "overrated".
Don't like Shakur style don't watch it nobody forcing you.

Very good fighter, but he’s not the type of guy that casuals will like.
He’s not a talker and arrogant guy that you can get casuals to love to hate like a Mayweather or Broner.
He’s also not a guy throwing haymakers and brawling guys that makes for exciting fights and knockouts like a Deontay Wilder or Terrance Crawford.
