The south want respect but don’t even acknowledge Phonte :patrice:

Shout out to Face, Cole, Dre, Bun, and a small handful of others, but outside of them this shyt a whole different genre of music let’s be real :unimpressed:

Breh, leaving off Phonte won't take away credibility from any list especially one for Southern MC's. He always found a way to condescend and talk down on The South and seemed to pander more to the East anyway. He isn't missed on this list.

He's from that part of the Carolinas that's in a weird space. Like folks I know from Fayetteville were heavy into East Coast hip-hop and hated South stuff. Then I'd meet some of they peoples who loved nothing but South and West Coast stuff. Met folks like that from the 757 too. But Phonte does act like one of them "I'm above it all" ass nikkas. Still not worse than Skillz one trick pony ass.

It's a bad list order wise and I agree Big Boi should be higher...HOWEVER, if you don't know Yo Gotti, this probably isn't the list you should be commenting on respectfully.
Respectfully, anyone with common sense wouldn't have Yo Gotti near a fukkin Top anything list. No definitive/classic work. No impact. The longevity argument in his case is a joke since he ain't even a footnote let alone in the genre, the region.

Where’s T-Mo? He was T.I. before T.I. the first trap rapper…
Especially if impact is a criteria
T Mo definitely..... As far as original Trap rappers go though.... No mention at all.

Nino and Wicked from Ghetto Mafia, they get slept on when it comes to that.
