That too. Knew a girl who was molested from 12-19 by her stepdad. Let’s just say others in the house knew what was happening. He told her she would be married one day and he wanted to enjoy her while she was still at home.
😡😡😡😡

She came to a few of us for help/support. Stepdad was arrested, found guilty and deported.

Y’all really don’t understand some of the disgusting things quite a few little girls have to deal with.

The Alabama Department of Labor says it is investigating reports last week of minors working at an Alabama auto supplier plant.

Reuters last week reported that children as young as 12 have been recently employed at SMART Alabama in Luverne, which has supplied parts for Hyundai’s Montgomery plant since 2003.

The story of the children came to light following the February 3 disappearance of a 14-year-old Guatemalan migrant child in Alabama, the news service stated.

According to Reuters, the child and her two brothers, aged 12 and 15, all worked for the plant. After the publicity generated by the February disappearance case, SMART reportedly dismissed several underage workers, according to former employees.

According to a statement from the Alabama Department of Labor, it has begun investigating the report.

“We are coordinating with other agencies to begin investigating,” the department said, indicating one of those agencies was the U.S. Department of Labor.

A USDOL spokesman said its wage and hour division has also initiated an investigation.

“The U.S. Department of Labor maintains a strong enforcement position regarding child labor in the United States,” USDOL said in a statement. “We use every tool available to hold to account employers who violate child labor laws and endanger the safety and well-being of our nation’s youth. In its international work, the department also aims to end child labor and forced labor globally and ensure it is eliminated from our supply chains.”

Alabama Child Labor Law prevents minors under the age of 16 from working in a manufacturing environment.

According to the Alabama Department of Labor, the law also states that the presence of any person under 18 years of age in any restricted business establishment or restricted occupation shall be prima facie evidence of employment.

“That means that regardless of whomever was paying the minor, the presence of the minor alone is all that needed to establish that they are an employee,” the statement reads. “They were at the SMART factory, they are a SMART employee as far as Alabama Child Labor Law is concerned.”

In a statement to The Wall Street Journal Friday, Hyundai said it has “no evidence that there is any truth to these allegations.”

“Hyundai does not tolerate illegal employment practices in any Hyundai entity,” said Dana White, a Hyundai spokesperson.

SMART, in a statement, said it follows federal, state and local laws and “denies any allegation that it knowingly employed anyone who is ineligible for employment.”

The factory should get shut down if that's the situation but it won't happen because Hyundai invested too much into that area and the local authorities don't want to lose that money.
