yea, supposedly this was the issue with game, according to henchman. ross & meek is how 50 & game shouldve been.

at the end of the day, i feel like the rapper-owned labels are both a gift and a curse. for every great memory that these labels provided, theres a rapper whose career was hindered because of the fact that these labels basically have a clergy system.

at the end of the day, the one that signs that checks is gonna be seen as the man on 90% of these labels, no matter how much better the music is by some of his artists. as great as rocafella was, it couldve surpassed death row if it was owned by just dame & biggs, with jay being just an artist.

jay told on himself with that "how you gonna let your artist sell more than you" line.

only in the mind of curtis does he take credit for forming the "crew label" when under his own fukkin umbrella it had been done twice w/ shady, then aftermath and before that death row and then ruthless. like nelly didnt do it. like jay didnt do it. like ruff ryders, bad boy, even murda inc.
