People who said "individual 1" was the informant wrongly assumed the concealed individual in the transcript was the informant. There's still a possibility he is one, but being Individual 1 alone isn't enough to say that he is.

Where is this stated? The original indictment?That was my memory of the original documents that individual 1 was listed as a cooperating witness, if Nuke and Harv don't go to trial it would never have been revealed that individual 1 was Jim Jones.
Unless they're coming to arrest Jim Jones soon kind of hard to see the reason for that we'll find out I guess this case been strange from the start, I have a hard time imagining Jim being an informant but it looks crazy right now.
