50 Cent released The Massacre 15 years ago today

I absolutely hated this album when it came out. It’s hard to follow up on a classic album. 50 was extremely generous to his label mates, which left The Massacre lacking. This was the era where rap albums had way too much filler and were way too long.

I think it’s aged well, but to me it’s still disappointing.

Always thought this and Power Of The Dollar were better than Get Rich. The mix of catchy synth beats and soul based beats was dope. 50 had some of his best lyrical joints. I know Get Rich has more iconic songs but everything felt elevated on this album.

Love this album i honestly think “puppy love”should’ve made the Final Cut. Take out 4-5 of the wacker tracks for the tracks that were supposedto be on it and you got a 5 mic album. Hate it or love it was perfect for this album, he should’ve kept it & he should’ve removed games part. 50 made that track what it was removing games part would make no difference. I think the soulful beat for church for thugs would’ve sounded great on the album too. The soulful tracks on the massacre were the best, more of them would’ve made the album better I think. Top tier mixing all throughout. still 4 mics easy and album of the year in 2005, of course the special edition version with the outta control remix(I don’t like the og, the remix is 1000x better).

It's alright but I remember a good chunk of the album was either borderline skippable or skippable for real like that candy shop and gatman garbage. Actually most of the singles from that album SUCKED. It was the non-singles that were dope.

It's crazy how Patiently Waiting was a great collab between 50 and Em on first album, and then gatman on this album was soo ridiculously bad.

When people talk about an Eminem/50 album, I really believe that they probably only have trash in the vault together. All of their joints together are either hit or miss heavy.

Rap game, love me, patiently waiting, . Thats it.

Gatman and robbin, peep show, syllables, my life, and the joint with the white boy from england. Basically all trash, or borderline trash.
