Y’all….the ignorance from some of these dudes is almost PALPABLE.
Yunno, I actually regret going back and forth with that dude, because it’s fruitless to engage in “arguments” with people who are so heavily invested in their own ignorance. It was a complete waste of my time and energy.
But I will say THIS…..it is BEYOND the realm of shallowness and dense thinking to suggest that somebody is “bein’ scary” simply because they don’t want to see people going to the damn club, particularly when this virus is proven to be spread by contact in close quarters AND given that inebriation LOWERS your senses towards being cautious (case in point, THIS VIDEO shows NOBODY distancing or wearing masks)....and it's the HEIGHT of selfishness to think that nobody should stop YOU from "having a good time" when other people are making sacrifices.

there’s a HUGE difference between being “bunkered down in fear” and utilizing REASON AND LOGIC in order to avoid places where the potential for the spread of the virus is greater….and for these dudes to use that as the BASIS for their positions highlights their own incomprehensibility and, frankly, their pervasive sense of selfishness.
Our organization is out on the front lines EVERY WEEK, since April of 2020, without fail, giving away food, diapers and medicine to those who have been most heavily impacted by this pandemic: people who lost their long-time businesses, people who were laid off, people who lack resources during this time. EVERY WEEK we hear the same stuff:
“I just got back from a funeral of a family member who died from COVID”, or
“I got a funeral to go to this week”. EVERY WEEK people ask for prayer, shedding tears to us over their losses and their despondency because of this stuff. So arguing with fools online who lack the depth to think beyond themselves and their own surface-level existences and superficial thinking processes is pointless. WE SEE how this is affecting people.
And then, for it to be OTHER BLACKS who come at your neck for this when, as
@Born2BKing has already stated, it’s OUR community that’s so disproportionately affected by this virus....because, yunno, Black people SHUN going to the doctor for preventative purposes - in order to even discover whether or not they HAVE a preexisting condition – only to be adversely affected later on because they DIDN’T have the foresight to get themselves check out beforehand. I know a dude who didn’t KNOW he had diabetes because he ignored the signs his body gave him and refused to see a doctor, now he’s on a ventilator and fighting for his life. Again, pervasive ignorance.
And the sorriest part of all is that these dudes on here KNOW we’re right and have absolutely NO redeeming rebuttal to this argument, other than to say things like
“nikka shut your scary ass up”, or
“get that sanctimonious crap outta here”, or
“ain’t nobody reading all that typing, nikka”. Again, sometimes you just gotta let people wallow in their own unawareness and lack of enlightenment…that’s on THEM.
But that’s the problem with this country…lack of empathy for and compassion towards others.
“nikka, ain’t nobody gonna tell ME what I can and can’t do, I do what satisfies ME, nobody cares about what Y’ALL think or need, I’m all about MINE.” It’s why we’re so fukked up in the game.
