punched a major hole in Drake's credibility that has long-term damage. Of course, Drake won the rap battle but Meek's fan base is still checking for his new stuff for the most part - look at this recent album sales :yeshrug:

both sides lost the war. right before that beef, meek was probably top 4 rappers out at that point, just behind drake, kendrick and cole. that beef ruined his career, hes never going to sell 250k fw again (he can barely crack 100k now), people aren't checking for him like that, hes continuously clowned, all of this even though his recent music has been just as good, if not better than before the beef. meek legit had the potential/ability to perform at bigger venues at that time, which he ruined with this beef.

Got any other examples?
The one example is enough. Do you not know what niche means? :what:

52 year old sports broadcaster Kenny Smith referenced Drake not writing his own shyt at the NBA Awards on prime time TV. "Niche" ain't a word you can use after that. If you don't care, say you don't care and KIM. But the mental gymnastics yall do is silly as fukk.

Everyone knows drake don't hardbody bars. Esp after the meek shyt. His aggressive bars have been mad weak even in his pinnacle. He's lucky he only really faced meek and t was the meme generation. He had all corporations behind him and still got his card destroyed. fukked up how the game so heavily backs an artist with such losing characteristics

They had to roll out heavy pr to prove he is a winner :mjlol:.

This shyt would only work music man lol . He sure can't fake his way into Hollywood. No one wants him for roles he's so bad . His best performance is being a rapper. Maybe the academy will award him for that?

And I get that Drake is a major pop star, has tons of money and women and everything, but Drake always dreamed about being considered a great rapper first and foremost, which a lot of Drake fans forget. Look on youtube for some of his old interviews from his Degrassi days, he has all the classic hip hop albums and talks about his dream to be considered a great rapper one day. Even in that hour long interview he did with British TV last year, you could clearly tell he was annoyed by the ghostwriting allegations.

Just my two cents from a non biased observer, I could care less about Drake or anyone. :manny:

What is this actual damage you speak of?

In talking tangible shyt.

Hiphop heads not ranking him in some list is futile to everything

EDIT: Meek won the war but all his singles flop, he's not in demand for features and needs Hov to toss him a life raft for his 1st week numbers

There is no metric you can use to say Meek won anything other than the colis affection

in terms of tangible shyt, Drake's music has moved away from rapping to more of a caribbean influenced pop sound. I don't think that's a coincidence that Drake doesn't drop verses like the one this thread is about anymore lol.

As to your second point about hip hop heads not ranking him, it doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things (money, endorsements, etc.), but it matters to HIM. he's a student of the game and always aspired to be considered a great rapper. check the video around the 3 minute mark

Drake has always dropped records with him singing and rapping. What are you talking about?

Verse was crazy and that Rich Forever mixtape put Rozay in the next tier of rappers at the time. That mixtape finished with MMG World is Ours, Stay scheming and Party Heart :ohlawd:

I always preferred Common's response to this but this shyt was just everywhere so Drake "won the war" in that sense. It used to have everyone in the club reel off every word only to have French's verse ignored :russ:

That era in the game was :wow:

Th-th-th-th-th-the music gets into my party heart (...heart)
And I just want you to knoooooooooooow
