Assuming the story is true, it's not cliche to think life is chess and not checkers, breh. Understand, I have children, and my reaction would be on full rage mode as well from first hearing this from my child.
Then, I'd think about whether not only do I have the ability to actually kill a human being but do I have the ability to get away with it. What happens to my child if I am arrested and convicted?
A child who have been the victim of serious sexual abuse? That's the child going into the foster care system? The fear of further abuse and a life without me would have to play heavily in my decision making at that point.

I'm sorry, but I'm going by my gut and think something is up. Him posting his son's picture is a red flag and makes me believe this is a scam. Posting his picture is to trigger sympathy. Another red flag was after I did some research and found that the man had another gofundme back in march as a "single father and homeless vet."

Things that are not making sense from a legal standpoint (I understand that all states are different and jurisdictions, but some things remain the same if not similar).
1. He gives out the name and image of his son. When it comes to sex crimes, during an investigation, it is highly suggested under age victims have their information kept private. Reasons for this vary but over all, it's for safety and protection.
2. A rape kit can be done anytime on a child regardless of when the attack took place. A rape kit can be done any time on an adult as well even if evidence was potentially washed away. A simple Google search can pull up numerous articles of children as young as three months getting raped kits when there has been an accusation.
3. Children can in fact sit on the stand as a witness. A lawyer can call a child who can speak and who is well aware of a situation and with the parents consent, to the stand in a court hearing.
4. He speaks openly about an ongoing investigation when lawyers and detectives often ask for disclosure from both sides. This man could get sued for slander himself.
5. No one has been charged with a crime yet he asked for money and aims to manipulate public that all those he named in the article are bad...again slander.

How did the ADA get involved at this point to say
AN ADA in New York would not do that. Considering the son's account - They'd subpoena the teacher for grand jury testimony and, under threat of perjury, compel her to testify or possibly charge her w/ obstruction of justice, endangering the welfare of a child, etc.
Also, if it is true - Give the name of the ADA so we can show up at the DA's office.

My thoughts exactly, this story reeks of BS. Especially the part about not being able to put the 5 year old on the stand. They use child psychiatrist to interview children and then put the expert on the stand to testify in situations such as this.....
idk if its false but the whole thing about "legal fees"... they may have to switch that up because gofundme will shut your shyt down if there are any misrepresentations about where the money is going. i dont think they would have legal fees at this point and im sure the kid has insurance for therapy. if they want general donations they should just put that.
