Then let the mayhem begin. Everybody has a shot to begin in the top 20.

I think the rankings help draw ratings. They'll never eliminate preseason rankings.

Bama is cream of the crop Blueblood, but if it becomes a cash contest....issa fair number of schools that can outspend them without sweating. Bama money ain't like Texas money, SMU money....hell even Stanford money.

I don't think Stanford is really putting money into football like that tho.... @dora_da_destroyer would know more about it

Stanford money dwarfs any school you named but they dont spend on athletics

Michigan is kind of the same way where they have an alumni network and endowment dwarfing 99.9% of P4 schools but they refuse to P4P until this year.
