1channel add-on
1Channel Addon Repository | XBMC HUB
Once you've installed XBMC, download the 1channel zip file and save it to your desktop so you can find it easier. Then, open up XBMC, go to System > Add on > install from zip and select the 1channel add on which is on your desktop. It will install it and then you can add 1channel button to your menu bar in XBMC like this -

I use 1channel primarily for TV shows, and once you get the hang of it you find out which links stream the best (Sockshare, Gorillavid, Daclips by far).

NAVI-X is more for Live TV (or movies) you install it the same way as 1channel. When you want to find movies, tv shows and what not you go through the first option in the menu which is "Media portal". After that you can choose the Navi-X networks, or user hosted channels which are great.
I'd recommend getting an HD antenna if your building doesn't have one, that way you can get all the local channels if you want, and you can even run them through XBMC if you get a tuner card and turn your PC into a DVR.
