I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
Now remember. It can be the good type of fame or the bad type of fame.

1. The 15 minutes of fame. The viral-video-that-trends-for-a-couple of days type of fame. Think of the corn kid

2. Community or subculture type of fame. It can be the hot weather girl at a Local TV station or some college basketball legend who disappeared after college.

3. House hold name type of fame. Nearly everybody knows you or has heard your name even if they don't recall what you do. Think of Ryan Seacrest, Danny Devito

4. Legend. With this one, you are in the history books. People who were not alive when you were a thing still hear of what you did. Think of ex presidents, sports legends, music legends, you name it. It could be Britney Spears, Wilt Chamberlain, Richard Nixon, OJ Simpson, Al pacino, Denzel, Arnold Schwarzenegger

5. This is now the Godly type of fame. Even if you live in a cave, mice are gonna squeak to you about this person. You don't choose to know what they do or who they are. Everybody talks about them always. They're like a religion and they're never going away. Think The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Michael Jordan, Princess Diana, Mother Teressa, JFK, Tupac Shakur, Hitler and the likes. Some random grandmas in the Philippines or Kenya know this person.

My question is, is someone like Beyonce or Lebron gonna be a 5 or 4 in 20 years?

I would say that Lebron has the better chance of remaining highly famous in 20 years.

Someone like Beyonce is obviously famous but consider Mariah Carey. 20 years ago she was ubiquitous. These days she is famous but is she really on anyone's radar outside of the Christmas season? I would say no. I think Beyonce follows a similar path.

The other thing to consider is whether people like Lebron or Beyonce WANT to be so famous or public in 20 years.

Part of what keeps Michael Jordan famous is debate culture. Who is the GOAT? And so on.
I'm not sure that really exists for singers once they exit their artistic peaks.

It's gonna be hard to forget MJ. Once Billie Jean, Thriller hit you it's over. You never forget it.
I agree but impact does go down. The older I get, the more I'm seeing it.

Eminem is amazing but in 20-30 years nobody will care or remember
same shyt happened to Elvis and The Beatles etc
Most kids dont care or know who Bruce Lee is ... they just say "oh that Chinese dude would get his ass beat"
MJ is legendary but like Russell and Wilt etc nobody cares even half of how they used to
Beyonce, Lebron, Jayz etc all these people will be regarded high, but after that 50-100 years pass... nobody will bat an eye ... its sad but its reality
nobody under 25 knows or cares what Magic Johnson and Larry Bird did for the league or who Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin are. My girl doesnt even know who Suge Knight or 2pac were really... when I broke down Death Row records for her she couldnt care less ... it made me feel hella old :russ:

On that scale, they're probably a 4, maybe 4.5.

I'd have more levels though because there are people like Einstein, Hitler, etc. who are basically phrases/sayings/slang and will be for generations.

I don't think they're quite in that category.

Ultimate fame are religious figures though, nobody is touching them. No doubt in 500 years they'll still be a thing.
