Problem with Canelo is that he's not as good of a technical fighter as he used to be. It has nothing to do with declining skills, he's fallen too much in love with his power and thinks he can knock anybody out from John Ryder to Anthony Joshua at HW with his punches.

No head movement, no quick evading of a punch and then a blistering counter, extremely basic non-creative offense. He had Ryder doing the cha-cha slide in front of him and was just looking at him. Canelo’s gas tank is always going to be below average, but goddamn. Maybe he take Ryder seriously, I don’t know; but, it seems like the Canelo that fought Callum Smith is gone. He’s not really sharp defensively or offensively right now.
