What’s the point of a weigh in on a wrasslin show? If someone comes in at a higher or lower weight than expected, does the match get called off? (Serious question)

There is no point except to have a reason for people in the ring together before their match so that shenanigans can pop off.

But going back to legit sports that do weigh-ins...why do they bother with the weigh-in for heavyweight matches? There is no weight limit so what's the point?

I really have a feeling that Stadium Stampede will run its course. The first one was legit because it was fukkery inducted due to Elite, Hardy, and Inner Circle. The Pinnacle is too old school for the fukkery. They not going to click at all during the purpose of that match..

If they take the goofball fukkery out of it and just make it a brutal street fight style match then it could work.
Like how Benoit and Kevin Sullivan's "Falls Count Anywhere" match in WCW was.
