There is no reason to turn your back on Bryan and Becky..who are standouts in the entire industry.
WWE of course has more talent than they know what to do with, but if the overall product is crap, its all for nothing. This can only be a positive because it means WWE cant be lazy and continue to squander their talent. They need to compete again.

Where's the story in all of it. It's breaking Kayfabe too much to appease the "realness" factor.
The realness factor is what people want though. Actual post-match interviews like Cody did evoke real sports which is what they are going for, and are so much better and refreshing compared to WWE's overly scripted, disingenuous bs. Whats more, WWE had their version that was like half kayfabe in Talking Smack, that everybody loved, and they quickly cancelled it like fools.

As far as story goes, thats in the ring in spades. Just watch that Cody Dustin match.

I just finished watching the show and man, they really need to iron out all of the indy in their show.

I will give a bit of leeway to some of the showcase matches (CIMA's crew plus the Joshi girls) for being largely spot fests, but there's no reason why the entire card outside of Cody/Dustin and Omega/Jericho should lack any form of sensible psychology or storytelling (or only use it to set up more indierific spots) .

They need way more storytelling to get these matches (and the rest of their roster) to actually mean something down the line, and hopefully the talent they acquired behind the scenes can help them get it in order before the tv-show starts.

I don't mind it but don't forsake kayfabe above realness. Keep the story going and don't get to edgy with breaking feuds, 4th wall, etc.

I love their Indy shyt and hope they keep it. People keep saying “they need to be different from WWE and everyone else” and that’s them being different.

I disagree that those matches “don’t tell stories” just maybe they don’t tell the stories most are accustomed to. But either we, they already got guy on there that can and will do that. Variety is good. I don’t need every match someone gets hit with a chop or kick and needs to sell that hit for like 16 minutes while the ref looks confused and the other guy stares at the crowd.

I think the advantages of high paced matches is it kind of forces you to keep your eyes and attention on the match vs slower paced matches where now you’re on your phone checking Twitter, IG, blogs and typing paragraphs cuz you know the action is slow and you ain’t really missing much so you have they luxury of diverting your attention.

Atleast for me.... I tend to pick up my phone more on slow matches and start browsing various shyt vs watch what’s going on

This was their first show. I'm sure once they run more and have a weekly TV show, they can iron out the kinks.

I was thinking, as a wrestler where would I wanna be right now? And I thought AEW, more creative freedom, lighter schedule, health insurance, good money still, being part of something fresh and not fading into the background, more engaged crowd, just seems like a good place to be currently.

I hope they aren't petty enough for her to have any heat over this, competition is good for everyone, WWE ain't going out of business anytime soon, they gonna be cool, hopefully AEW inspires them to step up.
Common sense should tell you to not openly root for the "competition". Show me the wrestlers that were cheering on the opposition during the Monday night wars.

As long as NJPW is writing checks for Jericho, he has to play by their rules or else they will cut him off forever.

@Jmare007 they don't know how active the King of Sports is out here :wow:

They don't get it breh, King of Sports been King of Sport'ng since the 70's. There's levels to this stuff :wow: :wow:

Going to be interesting how Vince responds..this should definitely be enough to motivate him

I think Vince's mentality is in the Saudi show. And given that a ton of old motherfukkers are booked for that event, he's gonna make them show up on RAW to make it a "special" show and try to get some buzz :heh:

If AEW is really gonna do Indy fukkery and give the people a proper DDT experience, then they gotta book Andreza the Giant Panda in some matches :banderas: :

SD has been the more consistently good show, NWG was mainly about RAW. I can't wait for the heel turn on AEW when they become more and more popular.

The turn from "this is so refreshing" to "this is filled with white cacs flippy dudes" is gonna be something else :russ:

I'm glad people are so happy with this show, I can't wait for a new generation of TSC stan wars :blessed:
