I don't see the difference
Either these cats were still chilling in their pop's balls (during this time) or have selective outrage. I hope it's the former. The list of boxers stating they wished to kill an opponent and meant it is longer than both of my arms.
Forget what Mike Tyson has stated about pushing opponent's nose bones into their brains to kill them or telling Merchant that beating Briggs doesn't count because he isn't dead.
Forget Mike Tyson having said that he was disappointed he never killed a man in the ring while a contemporary did. He flat out said that he was jealous when another fighter did it and was bewildered that he didn't do the same. Just fukk what he said in his autobiography. It doesn't exist.
Forget about Sonny Liston wishing to kill opponents and actually cheating to do so.
Forget about George Foreman literally wanting to kill Ali and Ken Norton when they fought or any opponent for that matter during the first leg of his career.
Or Foreman telling Frazier's trainer Yank Durham after the last knockdown:
"You better stop it or I'm going to kill him."
Or Roberto Duran telling Sugar Ray Leonard's brother, Roger, on live TV the following:
"Your brother only has a few more days as champion. I am going to kill him. He’s going to end up dead."
Or Sugar Ray telling Michael Katz after Duran said to Juanita's face that he was going to get the draws after the fight:
"I want to kill him (Duran)."
On Duran's fighting Japanese former champ Kobayashi for a title shot against Buchanan:
"tell him that this Chinese guy is a dead man and I'm going to kill him."
Duran's response on Barkley saying he was going to get revenge for Davey Moore:
"This motherfukker acts as if I killed Davey Moore. But, this one, I am going to kill. Just wait."
Duran in the post fight interview after KO'in Lampkin:
"Next time, I'll send him to the morgue."
When Duran visited Lampkin in the hospital and Lampkin was talking crazy about a rematch, Duran's response:
"I told him I would kill him next time."
Joe Louis prior to the second Schmeling fight:
"He has me so mad. I'm scared . . . I'm scared I'm going to kill him."
Sandy Saddler in the first Pep fight:
"He can't escape from me all night. When I land, I'm going to kill him."

I've heard more outrage in the last few days over what Wilder has said than fighters who been caught in the ring with loaded gloves and tested positive for PEDs. Jarrell "Big Jelly" Miller was juiced to the gills against AJ's TRT'd ass and only got a six month suspension.
