[5/17/23] AEW Dynamite: Snowman has an announcement, Starks/White, Strong/Jericho, and more

I likely won't watch most Saturdays, but I'm not sure I agree with the concerns of Saturdays:

• I don't see a huge overlap with College Football unlike the NFL
• Boxing/UFC PPV main events start at 11PM EST.
• The show will start in the middle of summer with little TV competition.

I think the problem is that people go out on Saturday nights to a bar to watch college football/boxing/UFC. So they likely won't be at home to watch Collision anyway. AEW is strong with the 18-40 male demo, so they'll be losing some (who knows how many) to that at the very least.

MLB/NHL/NBA playoffs happen every day, so it'll be inevitable that one of those lines up with the show. Same with the 1-2 weekends the NFL lands on Saturdays too.

I’m sure WBD is aware of all that, especially seeing as how they have broadcasting rights for NHL and the NBA (MLB too?).

I agree. It'll be a lot better than whatever they're putting on there now. But you know the trolls are going to run with whatever low number even though Turner/WBD will be happy with the increased viewership.

I don't see them doing 800k but if they can do 600k and decent 18-49 numbers vs. whatever else is on cable then WBD will be happy.
