If I recall correctly, that was the NFC Championship game against the Bears in the cold where Rice beasted that game.

:obama:

But I had no clue it's been that long.

Part of it is because we had nearly a decade long playoff drought. Lost a pair of road playoff games with Garcia/T.O. though.

Silly stat, i`d like to see how many road playoff games we've had in that span.

Probably no more than 5.

I also hate these stats that date back to obvious outdated times, like somehow it has any effect on the current situation.

They talked about how we were 1-5 vs GB in the playoffs, yeah when Dan fukking Majikowski played and Favre was still hopped up on painkillers winning MVP awards

Why is it silly?

If anything, it's surprising being as storied a franchise that the 49ers are.

The run TO and THROUGH the playoffs in 89 was the GOAT.

Yup that's correct, we had some good fortunes where we were either a 1 or 2 seed and did not play many playoff road games.

We also had some mishaps in road playoff games as well

1993 - lost nfc title game to a better dallas team

1996 - lost divisional to a better packer team

1998 - lost to a falcon team in the divisional after hearst broke his ankle

02 - lost to SB champs tampa

Lost to GB on the road a few years ago.

Off the top of my head, you guys lost in Dallas in 1993 with Bernie Kosar QB'ing for Dallas. Lost in Green Bay in 1997. Lost in Atlanta in 1998. I think it was an L in Green in 2001. And an L in Tampa in 2002.

5 loses is in the postseason over 3 different iterations of a football team is pretty significant.
