I can't believe I'm sitting here having to defend some dumb shyt like poppin bottles, but many of you just don't get it.
No person in their right mind thinks buying something for $500 when you can buy it for $50 elsewhere is a good business decision. That's not why you do it.
Just speaking from personal experience, this is usually how it's gone every time I've done bottle service. Which is only really been in Vegas, Miami, and Atlanta...
You got a group of dudes, let's say 8 all going out for someone's birthday. If you go to Liv, or Marquee, or Hakkasan, etc. they're not letting 8 guys through that door without any girls. You might have to have 20 girls with you if you want to get in, because they have a ratio to maintain. So you have no choice but to get a table with a minimum spending limit if you want to get into the club. You have no other option.
It's usually 4-5 people to a bottle, so let's say you get 2 bottles and the total after tax and tip comes out to $1,000.
That's $125 a person.
Now keep in mind, when you buy bottles, you don't have to pay cover, which is usually at least $50 at one of those clubs I mentioned. So that's $50 you save. Also, a Grey Goose/Hennessey/Patron drink at the bar will run you around $18 before tip, so say an even $20. Keep in mind, you'll have to wait a good 10 minutes at the bar to get served too, when if you had a table, could've just made yourself a drink right there on the spot.
So assume you personally get 4 drinks out of those two bottles. That's $80 that you would have spent at the bar AND you would have had to pay cover just to get in, which is another $50, totalling $130. Plus you didn't have to wait in the long ass line to get in, you walked right in. And the hoes that WERE in line saw you walk right in, so when you see them inside, you have instant credibility with them (yea, it's dumb, but that's just how shyt works in the club).
So not only did getting bottles actually save you $5, but you had a table to post up at all night that served as a "home base" and had dimes floating through and chillin with you because they had a place to sit and you didn't have to chill by the bar or post up on the dance floor like a bunch of awkward heathens. And that's assuming you would have gotten in in the first place, most top notch clubs won't let a bunch of dudes in like that no matter what, you'll be standing out front all night.
Again, I'M NOT DEFENDING SPENDING THAT KIND OF MONEY IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT. But if you do, and you're gonna go out and have a good time anyway, explain to me how the above is a bad decision?
