I would lean towards Lubin by decision, but I wouldn’t bet on this one, it’s literally a coin toss. Unless one of these guys is a big underdog with the lines (in which I would go with the underdog if the odds are good), it’s the definition of a coin toss.

I can imagine all scenarios with this one.
Its even money right now on the odds

Super welterweight contender Jamontay Clark will duel Aaron Coley in an eight-round showdown highlighting the non-televised undercard this Saturday, April 9 in a Premier Boxing Champions event from the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, part of Curio Collection by Hilton.

Also in action, 2020 Philippine Olympian Eumir Marcial returns to the ring to take on Isiah Hart in a four-round middleweight affair.

The event is headlined by a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING tripleheader that will see top 154-pound contenders Erickson “Hammer” Lubin and Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora meet for the WBC Super Welterweight Interim Title in the main event. The action on SHOWTIME begins at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and also features former super welterweight world champion Tony “Superbad” Harrison taking on highly regarded contender Sergio Garcia in the 10-round co-main event, plus unbeaten super welterweight Kevin Salgado battling Bryant Perrella in the 10-round telecast opener

Tickets for the live event, which is promoted by TGB Promotions and Sampson Boxing, are on sale now and can be purchased at AXS.com.

The non-televised lineup also includes highly-touted Mayweather Promotions prospect Jalil Hackett (3-0, 2 KOs) squaring off against fellow unbeaten Jose Belloso (4-0, 4 KOs) in a six-round welterweight affair, and Mayweather Promotions’ super featherweight prospect Dorian Khan Jr. (1-0, 1 KO) competing in a four-round attraction against Mexico’s Arturo De Isla (2-1, 1 KO).

Rounding out the card is super bantamweight prospect Alberto Gonzalez (1-0) in a four-round fight against Daniel Alegre (1-0, 1 KO) and the pro debut of super bantamweight Xavier Bocanegra in a four-round bout taking on Jose Ramirez (1-1, 1 KO).

The 27-year-old Clark (15-2-1, 7 KOs) will return to the ring looking to bounce back from a March 2021 defeat against U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Clark won his first 13 pro fights, including impressive victories over Ivan Golub and Domonique Dolton. Clark also owns a split-draw against unbeaten contender Sebastian Fundora in a 2019 action fight. He will be challenged by the Hayward, California native Coley (16-3-1, 7 KOs), who most recently lost a split-decision against Vladimir Hernandez in July 2020. Coley won six-straight fights after his first loss and overall has won seven of his last nine fights.

Fresh off his run to the semifinals representing the Philippines during the Olympic tournament in Tokyo, Marcial (1-0) steps back into action for his second pro fight on April 9. In addition to making the Olympics, Marcial had a decorated amateur career that included gold medal wins in the India Open, the Korotkov Memorial Tournament, the Ulaanbaatar Cup and the Southeast Asian Games. Prior to the Olympics, Marcial had a successful pro debut in December 2020, beating Andrew Whitfield by decision. He will take on the 30-year-old Hart (6-2-1, 4 KOs), who fights out of Mays Landing, New Jersey and went 1-1 in 2021, stopping Ernesto Cardona Sanchez before losing to Francis Hogan.

Erickson Lubin-Sebastian Fundora, Undercard Results From Virgin Hotels Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – Sebastian Fundora amazingly made the 154-pound limit with ease yet again Friday afternoon.

The 6-foot-6 Fundora, absurdly tall for the junior middleweight division, stepped on the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s scale at 152.8 pounds at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. A significantly shorter Erickson Lubin, who stands 5-foot-9½, officially weighed in at 153.2 pounds for their 12-round fight Saturday night for the WBC interim super welterweight title.

Showtime will televise the intriguing encounter between Fundora (18-0-1, 12 KOs), of Coachella, California, and Lubin (24-1, 17 KOs), of Orlando, Florida, as the main event of a tripleheader set to start at 10 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT.

Lubin, 26, will fight for the first time since he stopped former IBF/IBO/WBA 154-pound champion Jeison Rosario (22-3-1, 16 KOs) in the sixth round of their 12-round WBC elimination match last June 26 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

Fundora, 24, will end a much shorter layoff. The rangy southpaw out-pointed Sergio Garcia unanimously in their 12-round December 5 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Lubin has won six straight fights since Jermell Charlo knocked him out with one punch in the first round of their mandated fight for Charlo’s WBC super welterweight title in October 2017 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The lone blemish on Fundora’s record is a 10-round split draw with Cincinnati’s Jamontay Clark (15-2-1, 7 KOs) in August 2019 at The Armory in Minneapolis.

Caesars Sportsbook lists Lubin (-150) as a slight favorite over Fundora (+125).

Tony Harrison and Garcia previously made weight for their 10-round, 154-pound co-feature before Lubin and Fundora arrived on stage.

Detroit’s Harrison weighed 153.4 pounds. Spain’s Garcia came in at 152.6 pounds.

Harrison (28-3-1, 21 KOs) hasn’t fought in nearly a year, not since his 12-round split draw with Bryant Perrella last April 17 at Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Garcia (33-1, 14 KOs) gave Fundora a more difficult fight four months ago than two of the scorecards indicated (118-110, 116-112, 115-113).

Just before Harrison and Garcia got on the scale, Perrella and Kevin Salgado met their contractual obligations for Showtime’s 10-round, 155-pound opener.

Perrella (17-3-1, 14 KOs), of Fort Myers, Florida, came in at 153.4 pounds. Mexico City’s Salgado (14-0, 9 KOs) weighed in at 154.2 pounds.

I'm a little worried about Tony Harrison tonight. He didnt look good against Perrella in his last outing.
